I agree CPT ideal for RBL to 'happen', but not exclusive to only when CPT. I've tried to model lessons on RBL and use 'higher order thinking skills' in my planning. One amazing outcome has been the (unexpected) good results and performances of some of the students that usually struggle with many basic tasks. As a matter of fact the more capable students took a while to get on with their tasks, so used to the absorption method, that when faced with 'think' time a little perplexed, and needing quite a bit of reassurance. Marvellous outcomes from many students labelled as working 'below expected level'. What a disservice to these students when stuck in usual modes of teacher led RBT. Now with CPT , all on the RBL track, wow imagine what that could result in! Having high expectations of all students is my mantra, and pushing for CPT
